NEW HORNBY R9289 EDWARD LOCO NO 2 from THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE + FRIENDS BOXED. Brand New, Boxed, Hornby R9289'Edward' no. 2 loco from the'Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends' series. This is the last version that Hornby made, prior to them losing their licence to build any more.

This loco is DCC Ready, which, for those who don't know, means that it will run as he is on your analogue layout, and will simply need a decoder (not included), plugged in to the 8-pin socket inside the tender to convert him to digital. Edward will not run on a digital layout as he is - he needs a decoder (not included), plugged in. This final version of Hornby's'Edward' runs very sweetly, due in part to his smooth running 5-pole power unit. As pictured, he is nicely detailed and yet robust, so is suitable for use by children as well as being part of an adult's collection.
